Decorative Tile Pottery Workshop

Date: Saturday 7 September 2019 - 10:00am

Decorative Tile Pottery Workshop
7th September, 10.00am – 4.00pm, Coniston Institute Reading Room
£10.00 per person, including lunch and all materials

Join Adam Sutherland for a hands-on workshop covering a wide range of decorative pottery techniques including slip and oxide colouring, stencilling, monotype printing and plaster processes. During the workshop you’ll experiment with these techniques on pre-prepared clay tiles which, once fired, can be used for many purposes around the home including as house name plates, coasters, or even as kitchen or bathroom tiles. As part of the workshop you’ll also help design and make a new commemorative plaque for Coniston’s Usher Miniature Village, celebrating its history and creator, John Usher (1940 – 1993) and the members of Coniston’s community who have cared for this extraordinary folk artwork.

Should you, or anyone else interested in attending, need any further information, please do just ask them to contact me either by email, or by calling 07930 651889.
